Our booking calendar is really starting to fill up for next year with many of the key holiday period and dates booked up, so now is the perfect time to look to get your group booked in now to avoid disappointment.
Autumn is always a key period when many group leaders and organisers look to start researching, planning and booking their group’s activities for the year ahead, in some cases two years in advance.
So by booking with us before the turn of the year (and thoughts turn to Christmas) you can avoid the usual ‘new year rush’ of holiday and trip plannng, choosing the dates you want (if they are still available) and getting your group organised.
Just think, doing so now will leave you able to sit back and relax safe in the knowledge that your plans for next Spring, Summer or Autumn are all in place. And you can look forward and start planning what you do with your time away with us on Lancelot and Guinevere well in advance.

]]> The start of the month saw another ‘first’ (or at least so your writer believes is) with LNBP welcoming some visitors all the way from Colorado, USA.

We were pleased and privileged to welcome the party from Ship 444 Sea Scouts, Colorado, USA, to Braunston and on board Lancelot and Guinevere as part of their visit and adventures to the UK.

As you can see from a sample of the pictures we have been kindly supplied, the party had a wonderful time with time spent not only on the waterways here in Northamptonshire and into South Warwickshire, but also with trips and stays further afield in and around London

For LNBP’s part, we played a key role in helping them with their travel plans and itinerary (which involved a series of Zoom calls and emails) but also with Lancelot and Guinevere being their accommodation and travel base when with us in central England.

All being well we hope to have a first-hand account of our American friends’ travels in due course.

2020 has seen so many of our lives put on hold and ideas and plans change because of Covid-19, but like us many of you are thinking positive and looking forward to more brighter sunnier times ahead in 2021 and beyond.

Over the last month or so we have seen a considerable number of bookings coming in for 2021 – and even 2022 – for weekend and midweek group residential trips. In particular, it is great to receive more bookings from a variety of Scout and Guiding groups – both locally and dotted around the country – all of whom are and keen to explore what we have here on the canals of central England (and there is so much to see and do after all)

Once again the level of bookings coming through shows us that many group leaders continue to be very pro-active in planning their group’s activities for the next 12 months, in some cases for the next two years.

With that in mind, our message to prospective groups who may be interested in joining us for a weekend or midweek group residential experience on our boats to explore the magnificent inland waterways of central England is…book early to avoid disappointment.

Many thanks to Pyrford Scouts for sharing some of the pictures of their recent trip with us. 
 

The group based in Surrey travelled up for a weekend residential adventure trip with us, using both our boats Lancelot and Guinevere.
 
And whilst the late September weather was typically a bit unpredictable – a bit of sun, a bit of rain – everyone had a wonderful time with us.
 
One of the Group Leaders Denise – who is also a member of LNBP’s Executive Committee – did mention it was she had her waterproof trousers on when going through Watford Locks!
