TRAINING

LNBP is an accredited Training Centre for the

Certificate in Community Boat Management

What is the Certificate in Community Boat Management ?(CCBM)
The CCBM course is designed to improve the knowledge and skills of people operating boats carrying groups of twelve passengers or less. It is aimed at boat users in the voluntary or public sectors, but the scheme will be of interest to all group leaders using commercial hirecraft. In fact, many organizations now require the CCBM as a prerequisite for group leaders who are planning to self steer.
All candidates for the CCBM must be over 18 years.
It is administered by the National Community Boats Association (NCBA) of which LNBP is a member

Why is it necessary?
The objective of the qualification is to reduce the risk to user groups on the inland waterways, by raising the safety awareness of those in charge who are simultaneously handling craft and managing groups. The scheme draws on best practice in community boat operations, and aims to set the highest possible standards of training and assessment for paid or volunteer staff.
