MEMBERSHIP

The Project is a registered charity, incorporated as a company limited by guarantee.

The Project would like to invite you to register as a Member.

What does membership entail?
Membership of the limited company entitles you to attend
Annual General Meetings and Extraordinary General Meetings of the Project, to vote at those meetings (including voting in the election of Executive Officers), and to receive information about the work of the Project. Corporately, the membership has further powers defined by the company’s Memorandum of Association.

Membership carries with it the obligation for each individual Member to guarantee that, in the event of the company going into liquidation, you will personally contribute to the payment of any outstanding liabilities to a maximum limit of £1 (one pound).

Membership Subscription is £25 per Annum and is used to give disadvantaged young people a subsidised, if not free, holiday on the canals through our Bursary Scheme.

How do I register?
Please send your completed Registration for Membership and Bankers Order to the Treasurer. New Members are asked to consider paying their membership through Gift Aid, which will enable the Project to re-claim tax on the amount of the subscription, without any additional cost to the member.

Registration of Members will be regulated by the Executive Committee acting within the terms laid down by the company’s Memorandum of Association.

Your name and address will be entered on the Project’s computer records, but will not be given to any other organisation.
